Practice at a pace you can keep
Rakuyoga began with a simple wish: a calm place in Tokyo where residents and visitors can learn yoga without pressure. We value clear explanations and a no-hard-sell atmosphere.
Our story
Rakuyogaopened in Shinjuku for people who want unhurried time to move and room to breathe—without aggressive sales, vanity challenges, or unrealistic promises. The name reflects yoga at a relaxed pace, evening-friendly scheduling, the studio's calm brightness, and respect for a tired body.
Small groups are intentional. Fewer students help teachers see alignment, suggest variations, and remember faces. When a class is full, we do not squeeze people in beyond safe spacing.
Most students are based in Japan, but international guests are welcome when explanations stay clear. We communicate studio rules about shoes, phones, and etiquette firmly but without harshness.
Mission
Yoga you want to return to
We aim for a relationship where you continue because it matters to your body and life—not because you feel guilty when you skip.
- Clarity before difficulty. If something does not land, we rephrase it. If a pose does not fit, we offer another shape.
- Safety as habit. Warm-ups, prop suggestions, and permission to rest are part of every class.
- Dignity in the room. No public weigh-ins, shaming, or before-and-after marketing.

Values
What we protect
These show up in hiring, class design, and the words we use online and in ads.
- Transparency
- Clear contact details, readable policies, honest wording. If we do not offer something, we say so.
- Inclusion
- Bodies change. Within yoga's scope we offer variations for pregnancy (with doctor approval), fatigue, and injury awareness. Medical decisions belong with your physician.
- Sustainability
- Sustainable class tempo, straightforward pricing, and thoughtful use of props and cleaning where we can.
Reasons people choose Rakuyoga (examples)
- Published Shinjuku address and phone support during reception hours.
- Labeled levels so beginners are less likely to land in a fast flow by mistake.
- Short explanations of why a shape matters, without turning the whole class into a lecture.
- A culture where yoga supports wellbeing—it is not a cure-all or a competition.
If acute pain or rehabilitation is your main goal, we may suggest medical care first. Yoga can complement treatment but does not replace diagnosis or therapy.
